CNR ITAE (Italy)

The Institute for Advanced Energy Technologies was established in Messina in 1980 by the Italian National Council of Research (CNR). ITAE has long proven experience in environmentally friendly production, storage and use of energy. In the field of thermally driven adsorption heat pumps, the research activity concerns several fields, covering the different levels of development of the adsorption machine, in particular: preparation and characterisation of new adsorbent materials and their integration with the heat exchanger, simulations of adsorption systems, design and test of prototypes with improved COP and heating/cooling power density, integration of the thermally driven heat pump with RES sources (Solar Cooling), thermal energy storage, Heat and Power Cogeneration (CHP) and energy savings in buildings.
